The port was made by an external company who pitched the project to Eidos/Square, as they somehow are in possesion of the source code of the game - the source code situation is kind of a legal limbo due to Core Design's closure and this stops any potential further ports from happening (the company might also make and release a TR2 port, since we saw a preview video of it). There was a whole thread about the iOS port, with a small investigation into who has the source code for the game and if it could be ported over to PC (since iOS is Intel-based now, meaning it could potentially be run on Intel/Intel-compatible PCs), last year if I recall correctly. So every time I boot my computer, my monitor doesnt recognize that theres. Otherwise I will have to continue playing TR1 on playstation instead. Low-quality HDMI cables have been known to cause these blank screen issues. I really hope they consider it for TR1's 20th anniversary in 2016 at least. I mean, they even ported the game to iOS recently so how much trouble can it be?! So if Square could just get their butt in gear and make a proper up to date PC port of TR1 (all music included, no DOS hassle, 16:9 enabled etc) then I can learn to live without the save crystals, proper colours and loading screens. :ponder:īut tbh it's not like I expect the PSX version of TR1 to ever be ported to PC. One other thing I dislike about the PC version of TR1 (this goes for TR2 as well) is how they lack the awesome loading screens of the PSX versions. And thb, memorizing their exact location and only permitting myself to save at that very location when playing the PC version sounds like too much of a hassle. They aren't activated automatically be walking into them.

No you have to press a button in order to activate the save crystals in TR1. If you get a black screen on your PS4 particularly when running apps. As for Save Crystals, if I remember correctly, in Tomb1, you're brought to the save screen the instant you touch the Crystal, right? Couldn't you just memorize where the Crystals are and save then? As well as at the start of each level, since I've seen some videos where you get taken to the save menu after starting each level except the first. It's unfortunate that nothing can be done about the ungodly bright colors, but you can patch the music back into the PC release! I've done it with mine.
